In December 2024 MJLC members convened in Brussels for a series of important meetings to discuss the MJLC’s plans for 2025, and to facilitate cooperation with EU institutions.

Following an expanded Board Meeting the MJLC held a closed-door roundtable to discuss rising anti-Muslim hatred and antisemitism with Rossalina Latcheva, head of the Anti-Racism and Non-Discrimination Sector at the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), Marion Lalisse, the EU Commission Coordinator on combating anti-Muslim hatred, and Katherina von Schnurbein, the EU Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism. We thank them for sharing their data with us and for participating in the important conversation had by our members.

The MJLC Board also had the opportunity to meet with Antonella Sberna, Vice President of the European Parliament, Nicola Procaccini, Co-President of the European Conservatives and Reformists Parliamentary Group, and Dr. Vincent Depaigne, the EU Commission Coordinator for the dialogue with religious and non-confessional organisations. We look forward to working together to ensure that the rights of religious communities are protected and intolerance is combated.
