The MJLC condemns the recent antisemitic arson attack on ambulances belonging to a Hatzola volunteer ambulance service in northern London. Although this neighbourhood has a large Jewish population, Hatzola ambulances serve all members of the community in need, regardless of religion.

This dangerous attack has deprived the entire community of a vital medical service, while also creating a deep sense of insecurity among the local Jewish population. It is the latest in a long series of attacks against Jewish and Muslim communities across the UK, contributing to a disturbing pattern of violence targeting religious minorities.

While we acknowledge that the UK government has taken these threats seriously, it is clear that further action is needed to ensure that both Muslim and Jewish communities across the country are fully protected from targeted acts of violence.

Member of the Board of the MJLC and Secretary General of the Commission of Fatwa and Sharia Affairs for the UK Sheykh Faid Mohammed Said shared the following statement:

"I condemn in the strongest possible terms the reprehensible attack on Jewish volunteer ambulances in London. Such acts of hatred and violence have no place in our societies and stand in direct contradiction to our shared human and moral values. As a Muslim, I affirm that our faith calls us to uphold the sanctity of life, to protect human dignity, and to stand firmly against injustice in all its forms. Humanity must always come first. We also pay tribute to the dedicated humanitarian work of these volunteer ambulance teams, whose service to their community is noble, lifesaving, and worthy of the highest praise. As a Board Member of the Muslim–Jewish Leadership Council of Europe, I stand in full solidarity with our Jewish brothers and sisters. An attack on one community is an attack on us all, and we must confront hatred with unity, compassion, and moral courage. We remain committed to building bridges of understanding, strengthening coexistence, and ensuring that love, justice, and mutual respect prevail over all forms of hatred."
