Ambassadors Eldar Šabić and Vladimir Andrle organized educational field trips for young Muslims and Jews across Bosnia and Herzegovina, promoting knowledge about Jewish and Islamic heritage in several cities. These visits fostered dialogue and new relationships among communities, highlighting historical coexistence and contemporary cooperation.
The project culminated in Sarajevo with a public exhibition and a concert of Islamic and Jewish religious music, reflecting the unity and solidarity between communities. This widely attended event underscored Bosnia and Herzegovina’s rich tradition of peaceful coexistence and interfaith collaboration.

Voices from the Ambassadors
Vladimir Andrle shares the vision of their work:
“Interfaith dialogue is crucial in bridging the gaps between Muslims and Jews, as it allows us to recognize our shared values, common heritage, and mutual aspirations for peace. By engaging in open and respectful conversations, we not only break down barriers of misunderstanding but also build strong foundations of trust, cooperation, and respect. In a world often divided by differences, interfaith dialogue offers a path toward unity, helping us to foster a deeper understanding of one another and work together for the common good of all humanity.”

Eldar Šabić reflects on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s unique heritage:
“Without constructive dialogue, we cannot expect a bright future. We must raise and educate our generations based on the principles of mutual understanding and acceptance, beneficial cooperation, and constructive dialogue. One of the foundations of our dialogue is the remembrance of our shared past, which is filled with shining examples of coexistence. It is an immense honor for me that my homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the guardian of both written and oral history that bears witness to the shared life and cooperation of people of different faiths and beliefs. Through the Unity in Diversity project, we have had the privilege of teaching young generations precisely about this.”

The Sarajevo Ambassadors Programme showcases how Bosnia and Herzegovina’s historic tradition of interfaith coexistence continues to inspire new generations to build bridges of understanding through cultural education and shared experiences.
